Gathertell is built for private family memories. This is a plain-language summary of how we handle your information — written to match what the product actually does.

This waitlist page

Right now Gathertell is pre-launch and this site does one thing: it lets you join a waitlist. When you sign up we store only the email address you type in, so we can email you once when Gathertell is ready. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

We use your email for that launch note and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. To have your email removed from the waitlist at any time, write to hello@gathertell.com.

Inside the app: private by default

When Gathertell launches, your photos, videos, and voice recordings are private to you and the family members you choose to share an album with. Memories are not public, and they are not shared outside an album unless you deliberately share them.

Consent comes first

Recording someone’s voice is a big deal, so the app asks for the speaker’s consent the first time a new person is recorded — a quick spoken “yes,” a tap to agree, or a contributor confirming they have permission. As the app tells speakers at that moment: “Gathertell saves this voice recording so family can hear it later. It is not used to recognize faces or identify people.” If consent is later revoked, the affected recordings stop being shown.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t use your photos or voices for facial recognition or to identify people.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t make your memories public without your action.
